82 Issue7.2014 Specifications subject to change 82 One-Piece ProfileBody MountingScrew TUBUS-SeriesTypeTRBumper Radial Damping The bumper typeTR from the innovative ACE TUBUS series is amaintenance-free, self-containeddampingproductmade from a special Co-Polyester Elastomer. The radial deformationof the TR series provides a very long and soft decelerationwith aprogressive energy absorption towards theendof stroke. Theexcellent temperature characteristicof thematerial provides consistent damping performanceover a temperatureof -40 °F to 120 °F. The low installedweight, theeco- nomicprice and the longoperating lifeof up to 1million cyclesmake this an attractive alter- native tohydraulic endpositiondamping, if the movingmass does not have to stop in anexact datumpositionand it isnot necessary toabsorb 100%of the incomingenergy. The space savingpackagesize ranges from Ø 1.14" up to Ø 3.94" and is very simply andquickly installedwith the supplied special stepped mounting screw. The TR series havebeen spe- cially developed toprovide maximumstroke in the minimummountingspace in the ca- pacity range from10.6 in-lbsup to1,292 in-lbs. Lifeexpectancy is extremely high; up to twenty times longer thanurethanedampers, up to ten times longer than rubber bumpers andup to five times longer than steel springs.
